polar oposites

IF you have very diffrent views on well damn near everything can you still be friends? I have a very old friend and actualy someone i kind of admire for her strength and inteligence but our views on things from all i know are well night and day is putting it mildly is this a problem? I respect her and those views as alot of you know most people either love what i have to say or hate it but either way i still respect the other side. (even if i think they are crazy) so does it cause problems? i mean realy i don't ask people to believe the way i do as a matter of fact i like it better when they don't if for no other reason then to believe either i can change there mind, or we can have some realy great fight's/ discussions on everything and that i like. I enjoy that my friends and family agree and disagree with me though this one is wayyyyyyy away. lol But i still hold much love and respect. She has done some articles on the net that are around and i think they are amazingly written and even does speaking engagements. Wow a truly amazing person. here's some links.
